Description SHIFT: Days (rotating weekends) SCHEDULE: Full-time Northside Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for Diagnostic Imaging. Northside Hospital offers outpatient diagnostic imaging services and advanced technology at your fingertips. Northside Hospital Imaging offers the convenience of a 64-slice CT scanner for rapid and thorough detection of a variety of conditions, from head to heart. Under the medical direction of a board-certified team of Radiologists with fellowship training in Interventional Radiology, Neuroradiology, and MRI, as well as expertise in Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Cardiac Imaging, and Musculoskeletal Imaging, Northside Hospital's Imaging Department is available for your imaging needs and is able to provide a full range of diagnostic services as well as extensive interventional procedures. Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient's physical condition and nursing needs; develops, implements and communicates patient's Plan of Care with patient. Sets goals, and takes appropriate nursing action to meet those goals. Ensures patient's physical, emotional and rehabilitative needs are met. Encourages patient's involvement with their own care. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in care of patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, and special procedures in Radiology, Stress Lab, ECT or on the nursing units. Identifies, determines, and ensures appropriate equipment is available for procedures. Ensures room is set up in a timely manner. Monitors patients during invasive procedures, and conscious sedation and documents appropriately. Continuously assesses, monitors, records and communicates patient condition and reaction to contrast media, and acts appropriately. Demonstrates safe practice when transporting, positioning, and preparing patients for procedures. Assess for presence of implants (ICD, Pacers, Valves). Assesses cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, renal and peripheral vascular status when accepting patients into area. Documents finding and notifies physician of any changes/abnormalities. Accurately documents the administration of care in the patient record in a timely manner. Coordinates the patient's care and identified needs with other services and departments throughout the hospital. Identifies and integrates patient learning needs, abilities and readiness into the Plan of Care. Develops and implements an individualized teaching plan for patient and patient family. Recognizes and reports signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect to physician(s) and Department Director and/or appropriate agency. Role Accountabilities Proactively responds to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively impact overall patient experience. Safely discharges patients from the Cath Lab, Stress Lab and Radiology; gives accurate report on receiving unit. Qualifications This position is full-time (40 hours per pay period) days with rotating weekends. Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred. Current Florida State Registered Nurse license Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required Current NIHSS (National Institute Health Stroke Scale) required Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
