Description SHIFT: Nights (rotating weekends) SCHEDULE: Full-time What is BCIR? Barnett Continent Intestinal Reservoir (BCIR) is one type of intestinal ostomy. The BCIR is a surgically-created pouch, or reservoir, on the inside of the abdomen, made from the last part of the small intestine (the ileum), and is used for the storage of intestinal waste. This procedure is only available in Florida at Palms of Pasadena Hospital and is one of just a few locations where this procedure is available in the United States. Training to this unique specialty unit will be provided! This unit is b est suited for nurses already experienced in a Progressive Care or ICU/PACU setting. This 18-bed progressive care nursing unit offers our compassionate nurses the ability to create relationships with patients through their extended stay and recovery at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. The RN is responsible for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirm; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness of others. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state to prescribe such medications and treatments. Palms of Pasadena Hospital is looking for dedicated, compassionate Registered Nurses to add to our unique BCIR team. We're looking for top talent! Apply online today! Qualifications Education Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred. Licensing/Certifications Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire. Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association required. Current American Heart ACLS certification preferred; required within 6 months of hire. National Progressive Care RN certification (PCCN) or Med/Surg RN certification (CMSRN) highly preferred; required within one year of hire. Qualifications One-year previous experience in an acute care setting preferred. Prior telemetry course and experience preferred. Compassionate and team-player attitude highly desired. Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
